Privacy Policy — Tell Jack You Applied

Last updated: September 28, 2026

What the extension does

Tell Jack You Applied helps users keep Jack & Jill up to date about job applications they have submitted.

It detects likely job-application submission confirmation pages. When it detects a submission, it asks the user whether they want to save the application for Jack. If the user chooses to save it, the extension stores the application information locally in the browser. When the user next opens Jack & Jill, the extension can ask whether they want to send those saved applications to Jack through the Jack & Jill chat interface.

Information the extension handles

The extension may also temporarily read website content on pages the user visits to recognize common job-application confirmation messages, such as “application submitted” or “thank you for applying.”

How information is used

This information is used only to help the user track job applications and update Jack & Jill about those applications. The extension does not use this information for advertising, credit decisions, lending decisions, or unrelated purposes.

Where information is stored

Saved application information is stored using Chrome's local storage on the user's device. The extension does not operate a server or database that collects users' saved application information.

Sharing and selling

Tell Jack You Applied does not sell users' data. The extension does not transfer saved application information to third parties for advertising or other unrelated purposes.

When the user chooses to update Jack, the extension places the saved application information into the Jack & Jill chat interface so that the user's logged-in Jack & Jill session can receive the update. This action is initiated by the user.

Authentication information

Tell Jack You Applied does not request, collect, or store the user's Jack & Jill password or other authentication credentials.

Data retention

Saved applications remain in the extension's local Chrome storage until they are successfully sent to Jack & Jill and removed from the pending queue, or until the user otherwise removes the extension's stored data.

The extension also maintains limited local information to avoid repeatedly prompting about the same application confirmation page.

User control

The user decides whether an application is saved and whether saved applications are sent to Jack & Jill.

The extension can be removed through Chrome's extension settings. Removing the extension removes its locally stored extension data according to Chrome's extension data handling.

Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated if the extension's functionality or privacy practices change. The “Last updated” date above will be changed when this policy is updated.
